A commute that thousands of people share
Rabat and Casablanca are close enough for a daily trip, and many people live in one city and work or study in the other. The journey is short on the map, but doing it five days a week changes everything: fatigue, budget and routine matter far more than for a one-off trip.
Choose your rhythm before your transport
Before comparing options, define your real needs:
- Which days do you travel, and at what time?
- Is your schedule fixed, or does it change from week to week?
- How far are you from the station or the motorway entrance?
- Do you carry a laptop, a bag or other items every day?
A fixed routine makes planning much easier. If your hours vary, keep a plan B.
Your main options
Train. Frequent and predictable, and you can read, work or rest on board. Check current timetables and fares on the official ONCF channels, because they change. A monthly or frequent-traveller pass may be worth asking about.
Bus or coach. A classic budget-friendly alternative, though journey time depends on traffic and stops.
Carpooling. Sharing a car with someone who makes the same trip daily is often the cheapest way to get door-to-door service. Costs are split, and you build a regular routine with the same people.
Making a carpool work long term
A good regular carpool is a small agreement between adults. These habits help:
- Be on time. Agree on a tolerance, for example five minutes, and respect it.
- Agree on the cost sharing from the start, and settle it at a regular moment, for example weekly.
- Set simple rules: music, calls, food, windows and air conditioning.
- Plan absences. Tell the driver or passengers as early as possible when you cannot travel.
- Keep a plan B for days when the carpool is unavailable.
- Share the trip with someone you trust, and confirm the meeting point each time.
Using recurring trips on MySeatGO
MySeatGO has a recurring carpool feature made for this exact situation. A driver publishes a standing weekly pattern, with the days of the week and the time, for example Monday to Friday, leaving Rabat in the morning. A passenger can reserve a seat instantly in that series, without negotiating an offer each day.
You are also in control of your calendar. You can skip a given date when you do not need the ride, pause the reservation, or cancel it completely. If you are the passenger with a fixed routine, you can likewise publish your own recurring request, and drivers can claim it.
Payment is arranged in cash directly with the driver, and MySeatGO charges no commission.
Save time and stress
- Leave before the peak hour whenever possible: even 20 minutes can change the journey.
- Keep the motorway toll in mind if you drive, and check the current toll on the operator's official channels.
- Check traffic before leaving, particularly on Friday evenings and before holidays.
- Prefer a meeting point that is easy and safe to reach on foot.
Start your routine
If you commute between Rabat and Casablanca, look for a recurring trip on MySeatGO or publish your own weekly pattern. A good carpool can turn a tiring commute into a calm part of your day.
